Abstract

This paper examines the Use of Mobile Phones for Examination Fees Payment among Primary and Secondary School Students. The paper analyses whether there are factors affecting the use of mobile payment systems for examination fee payment. The rationale of this study is based on the fact that most scholars claim that while number of mobile phones ownership, access and usage in primary and secondary school students increases, there is decrease of who opt mobile examination fee payment method. From the perspective of primary and secondary school exam candidates in Tanzania, this paper used Structural Equation modelling technique to examine whether the mobile payment systems technology acceptance level is affected by factors affecting the mobile phone uses. The study identified three significant factors: performance expectancy, social influences and trust.

Abstract

This paper examines market reaction to international dual listings. The sample consists of the only six (6) firms that cross-listed their equity abroad and which are also listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The market reaction to a cross-listing program is positive and seen as a welcoming development to the selected companies and their shareholders at large. The stock price reaction is related to choice of exchange, geographical location (i.e., emerging or developed markets), and avenues for raising equity capital (i.e., public versus private offerings).

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to identify and substantiate the criteria of the efficiency of small-scale enterprises development. The idea of entrepreneurship was transforming for several centuries, and today it is generally recognized that this concept can be disclosed through the personality of the entrepreneur, who is the driving force for small-scale enterprises development on whole. In this regard, the utmost importance is given to the psychological aspect of the entrepreneur’s personality, which, in turn, requires the expansion of the subject and methods of research. Taking into account the psychological factors of economic entities led to the emergence of rapidly growing independent branch of interdisciplinary knowledge – economic psychology. Considering the concept of business activity through the prism of not only economic theory and jurisprudence, but also economic psychology permits to treat the phenomenon of entrepreneurship as a driving force for small-scale enterprise development on the whole.

Abstract

Knowledge sharing has been distinguished as a key enabler in leveraging knowledge management in organizations. Leaving knowledge in tacit form may prevent organizations such as Higher Learning Institutions from competing as the Institutions risk losing tacit knowledge when an individual in possession of such knowledge becomes incapacitated, retires from their position, gets hired by their competitor or even dies. It is in this viewpoint that this research identified the knowledge sharing among the academic staff as the core process in achieving efficiency in the University of Kigali (UOK). This paper seeks to show the knowledge sharing patterns among the academic staff and the frequency with which the academic staff share knowledge. The results can provide information to the management in providing the infrastructure, activities or programmes as well as systems of rewards and recognition that can increase the intensity of knowledge sharing. A case study was conducted on all the fourteen (14) fulltime staff in the University Of Kigali (OUK). Since the number of the fulltime academic staff is small, this research used censors to find the sample size. The questionnaire, as an instrument for data collection was distributed on all the 14 fulltime academic staff of the University Of Kigali and the results was analyzed using UNICET to find the frequency and intensity of knowledge sharing among the academic staffs in the University of Kigali (UOK). From the findings, it can be observed that the frequency with which the academic staff conducts knowledge sharing is low (in every few weeks). Therefore there is a need to understand the factors that contribute to low knowledge sharing intensity in Higher Learning Institutions such as the University of Kigali (UOK).

Abstract

This research was aimed to design a decision support system of internet banking technology services development in PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI Persero) Tbk. SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities, threat) analysis is used to identify determinant criteria in the development of bank services. The conceptual design of Decision Support System (DSS) is comprised of three models consist internal and external environmental analysis of service development, customer acquisition strategy priority analysis and area priority analysis of service development. The system prototype was designed in a web environment using hypertext preprocessing (PHP) as an application development platform and MySQL as a database management system (DBMS) platform.

Abstract

Computer Forensics involves the identification, acquisition, analysis and presentation of digital evidence stored in the form of encoded information. This paper discusses computer forensics and how it is applied under Microsoft Windows environment. The focus of the research has been on NTFS file system and forensic science as applied to Microsoft Windows. The underpinning knowledge developed in the theoretical framework is specifically applied to NTFS computers. The design and implementation of an NTFSUNDELETE file Recovery tool application software, using Visual C++ was achieved. This tool can be used to recover deleted files during a Computer based forensic investigation. The file recovery tool could be used by any interested person to recover accidentally deleted files under NTFS file systems on Microsoft Windows computers.

Abstract

Based on some identified problems and challenges to the current healthcare system, this paper proposes architecture for developing e-health system to meet the challenges and resolve some problems. The architecture is based on a solid theoretical model of human activity, and it has properties such as sustainability, generality, and expandability. We demonstrate the properties of the architecture through an ongoing research project. We concluded that this architecture can be widely used to integrate various small scale applications of e-health systems and to resolve some current design problems such as interoperability and knowledge sharing.

Title CONTRIBUTION OF COMPUTERISED FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN THE FUNCTIONS OF SUPREME COURT OF RWANDA

Abstract

The study investigated various computerized financial management systems used in Rwanda Supreme Court and try to ascertain the various functions of Rwanda Supreme Court used by computerized financial management system. The study determined the extent to which the computerized financial system has contributed to the functioning of Rwanda Supreme Court. The study provided vital information to various beneficiaries to capture the contribution of computerized financial management system in the functions of the Supreme Court of Rwanda. The study reviewed on Computerised Financial Management Systems, Conflicting Theories on Financial Management Systems, and Criticism of the Theories, Empirical Review, and Knowledge Gap. In this study, the research utilized quantitative research technique by using a questionnaire in order to get the primary data. Different textbooks, Supreme Court Financial reports, journals and other documents related to the Contribution of computerised financial management systems were consulted. Publications, government web through the period of study were also exploited. After editing, coding and tabulation, a computer programme for data analysis well-known as Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to produce results and interpret the results. A sample of 33 respondents from Rwanda Supreme Court was involved in the study. The findings revealed that, The SAGE Pastel Evolution assisted Supreme Court financial operations (54.5 %) , while the Smart IFMIS has been assisting the Supreme Court financial operations as supported by 70 % while those who indicated that they enjoyed general assistance were 62%.The hypothesis used was that "the Supreme Court of Rwanda uses specific Financial Management Systems in most of its operations" was accepted because the Supreme Court of Rwanda used Smart IFMIS and SAGE Pastel evolution in the operations of Supreme Court to the rate of 62 % for their total functions. It was also found that the level of contribution made by the Computerised Financial management Systems to the Supreme Court functions is high.This is also confirmed by the chi-square results which showed that the computerized financial management systems at Supreme Court have a significant contribution to the Supreme Court. The Null Hypothesis which stated that "The Supreme Court of Rwanda has not fully benefited from the contribution of computerised financial management system." is thus rejected and alternative hypothesis is accepted thus, "The Supreme Court of Rwanda has fully benefited from the contribution of computerised financial management system".This was interpreted as a contribution to financial management at the supreme court of Rwanda.

Abstract

In recent years the financial industry in Brazil and in the world has been modernized focusing on using more robust and sophisticated mathematical techniques at the moment of strategic decisions. A common strategic decision in financial institutions is the optimal allocation of financial assets. In general, this problem consists of allocating an amount of these assets in the different investment options available, so that when given an expected return, it minimizes the risk of the investment portfolio. In this case, the main types of financial risks that predominate in an investment portfolio are market and credit risk. The purpose of this paper is to propose an implementation on the resolution of the credit optimization problem using the Monte Carlo simulation.

Abstract

There is a gap in the market between the travellers and the transport companies in the Nigerian road transportation sector. This research aims to develop a business idea which will provide a service by developing a website (technical solution) that people will be prepared to buy (market need) in preference to existing services or competitors’ services by utilizing Information Technology (IT) in creating an enabling and a suitable business environment in form of a website which would bridge the gap between the transport companies and independent travelers and also, meet real business needs. It involves developing a website based on an investigation of user needs by gaining an insight to the issues the citizens currently face with the road transportation system.
Subsequently, an IT based solution which effectively meets the needs whist evading most of the problems was suggested. In principle, this research can be viewed as the creation of a business enterprise that harnesses the power of IT to effectively meet the demands of the major stakeholders, and as a consequence gain competitive edge over the current methods of managing Road Transportation in Nigeria. Having said that, this cannot be successfully achieved without considering how the business enterprise would generate revenue or exactly what value is being proposed to the citizens. For these reasons, the business model which effectively captures the value created was taken into consideration.
