Abstract | The purpose of this study was to explore how the Fashion Institute of Taipei (FIT) develops competitive advantage by providing value-added innovative services within local fashion-related businesses. To this end, we adopted the perspective of service experience engineering (SEE) to examine the way that managers introduce industrial value chain and service design models to promote their new service experience. This case study will illustrate how Quality Function Deployment (QFD) was used to develop new service activities and provide counsel to those that may want to implement service innovation. Thirteen service innovations and five constructs were developed for institutions which have to deal with rapid changes in fashion trends. The FIT has played the role of an integrative design service provider using IT technology to enhance its competitiveness.

Abstract | A preliminary experiment was conducted to investigate if a smaller number of bootstrap replication B for confidence interval was able to be identified through computational simulation. Interest was particularly on small data sets and in this simulation, a data set of Cadmium (Cd) concentration was used with 28 observations. A stopping criteria was identified and standard errors when B = 1000 and B = 2000 were used as benchmark. The results show that the stopping criteria were satisfied on specified cases of comparison up to d decimal point. As d increased, so did the number of B. For the CD case specifically, we found that the range of 100 to 1600 were adequate.

Abstract | Hospital Distance optimization using a hybrid formal method combined with neuro-fuzzy, bring in precision, in conjunction with self-learning ability and fuzziness elimination. Formal specification uses mathematical notation to specify clearly and unambiguously the properties a safety software system should possess. It focuses on “What” and not “How”. This research paper attempts to define the properties a neuro-fuzzy system for hospital optimization will possess utilizing Zed notation in specifying these properties wherein interaction within the system was visualized using Unified Modeling Language (UML) sequence diagrams. The findings are: system failures are eliminated to a large extent while time usage invested in ratifying unknown errors will be saved. This research paper has provided a sample representation of formal specification.
