Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to examine why and how a Central Bank of a South Asian Country (CBSAC), the monetary authority and the regulatory body of finance and banking sector, adopts and implements Activity Based Costing (ABC) practices. The primary data were collected by conducting semi structured interviews and observing organizational processes. Secondary data were collected through reviewing various documents such as guidelines to activity wise time recording sheets, annual reports and online sources including the CBSAC web site and CBSAC intranet. In the data collection process, higher emphasis was placed on data triangulation. Data analysis was carried out following an explanation building approach. The study identified that the appointment of the new Governor in 2006 was the major driver for moving towards ABC method at the CBSAC. Currently through time recording sheets, activity wise cost of each department is being tracked and assigned to the CBSAC functions. The CBSAC has taken several initiatives to improve the ABC system which has propelled it towards a more time driven ABC. |

Abstract | Information technology is an important aspect of the electronic Supply Chain Management (e-SCM) and e-Commerce (EC). Advances in information technology, particularly in the Internet, enables companies to share information within and inter-organizations. The Internet and its three important types of networks: Intranet, Extranet, and Web allow organization to transfer digital data instantly and with high fidelity at nearly zero marginal cost. Information sharing is a vital aspect of coordination amongst parties in a supply chain. Information sharing can increase supply chain efficiency by reducing inventories and smoothing production. And e-commerce can enhance selling online and help better understand customers. IT-enabled Supply chain efficiency is highly important as today’s competition is no longer between companies, but between supply chains. This paper discusses the trend in e-SCM or IT-enabled SCM and e-Commerce by examining how IT, the Internet in particular: intranet, extranet, and Web transform and streamline Dell’s SCM and e-commerce for success. |

Abstract | The bond market plays an important role as an alternative source of financing in the current economic growth. Indonesian government funding through the domestic bond market continues to grow, indicated by the issuance of bonds which tends to increase over time. Research on the yield curve usually imposes the effect of macroeconomic fundamentals such as interest rates, inflation, economic growth, money supply and exchange rate. However, research on the determinants of the yield curve beyond macroeconomic factors, especially in developing countries such as Indonesia, is still limited. By using a vector error correction model, this study aims to analyze the determinants of the yield curve of government securities (SUN) in Indonesia by looking at how the yield curve responds to shocks on these factors. The results of study concluded that the development of yield curve on government bonds experienced a fluctuating movement influenced by liquidity factors, fundamental macroeconomics, external factors and market risk factors. |

Abstract | The objective of this study is to examine the impact of employee share ownership on employees’ attitude and behavior. The study uses primary data collected through 4 interviews and 40 questionnaires administered to four Cameroonian firms. The results show that employee share ownership produces positive effects on certain attitudinal and behavioral variables such as satisfaction (intrinsic and extrinsic), motivation, and implication at work and generates a real feeling of psychological property for employees. However, its effects on instrumental satisfaction, absenteeism or on job turnover remain mitigated and vague. |

Title | MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF THE MARKET |
Author | Yu. K. Mashunin, I. A. Mashunin |
Source | International Journal of Information Technology and Business Management pp 045 – 061 Vol. 025. No. 1 — 2014 |
Abstract | The paper presents a methodology of creating a mathematical model of the market as a vector (multiobjective) problem of mathematical programming or a vector optimization problem (VOP). The model is structured in such a manner that it takes into account, first, the balance of supply and demand, secondly, purposefulness of each market participant (a manufacturer and a consumer). The methods based on normalization of criteria and principles of guaranteed result are applied to solve the VOP. The methodology of modeling is shown through solving practical tasks of vector optimization – models of the one- product market with two manufacturers and consumers. |

Abstract | This paper will discuss the competitiveness and the impact of policy on tobacco crops as raw material for cigars. The study was focused on the tobacco produced by PTPN X as well as by growers (farmers). Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) is used in analyzing the competitiveness, particularly in terms of competitive advantage (financial efficiency) and comparative advantages (economic efficiency). The results show that the tobacco harvested under PTPN X production system and produced by farmer has good comparative advantages. Domestic Resource Cost Ratio (DRCR) coefficients of both crops are less than 1, which are 0.2911 and 0.7844 for PTPN X and growers, respectively. The study also indicates that the crop has decent competitive advantage. The crop produced by PTPN X and farmers also having PCR coefficient below 1, which are 0.2872 and 0.8042, respectively. In addition, profitability coeficient (PC) for both producers are positive, which are 0.9511 and 0.9028. On the other hand, the effective protection coeficient (EPC) are 0.9460 and 0.9938. Those coefficients indicate that tobacco production under state owned enterprise (PTPN X) and farmers are having fairly good competitive and comparative advantages. However, the subsidy ratio to producer (SRP) give negative values, which are -0.0280 (PTPN X) and -0.0185 (growers). It indicates that government policies on tobacco production system cause distortion or negative impact to tobacco producers. |

Source | International Journal of Information Technology and Business Management pp 071 – 078 Vol. 025. No. 1 — 2014 |
Abstract | The present paper attempts to examine the association between inflow of foreign direct investment and gross domestic product of BRICS countries viz., Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The study covered a period of 20 years from 1993 to 2012. The data (except FDI inflow in South Africa) found to have unit root at original level but become stationary at different orders. The results of co-integration rank test established significant association among FDI and GDP in Brazil and South Africa. The results indicated that there is no long term relation between FDI and GDP in Russia. The results for India and China indicated the acceptance of null hypothesis of presence of at most one co integrated equation. Granger casualty test confirmed the results of co-integration and found that in Russia neither GDP Granger cause FDI nor FDI Granger cause GDP. However for rest four nations unidirectional relationship was observed. In India and China GDP granger caused FDI whereas in Brazil and South Africa FDI Granger cause GDP. |

Abstract | This study seeks to assess overall customer satisfaction and loyalty as well as sustainability of products and service quality delivered by Mobile Telecommunication Network and Vodafone to students of University for Development Studies. The problem of this study was whether customers are satisfied with Telco service delivery in Ghana. Specifically, this study sets out to figure out various Telco products and services offered to customers, examine the sustainability of the company’s products and services and to look at the marketing strategies and mechanisms put in place to satisfy and maintain customers. The main research designs used for the study were survey and case study. A Structured questionnaire was used to collect data from hundred (100) individual subscribers selected from the two Telecom groups via cluster and simple random sampling procedures. Descriptive statistics and one way Analysis of Variance were used for the data analysis. The findings indicated that irrespective of mobile telecom network on University for Development Studies Tamale Campus, customer satisfaction was low; neither equal to nor better than desire and expectation of customers. Overall Customer Satisfaction ratings among subscribers of Mobile Telecommunication Network in University for Development Studies significantly differ and that relatively, customers of Mobile Telecommunication Network rated their satisfaction with service quality higher than those of Vodafone. The management of Mobile Telecommunication Network and Vodafone would need to develop strategies to deal with the customer dissatisfaction. The research contributes to the body of knowledge in the area of Customer Satisfaction in the Ghana’s Telco groups and provides important managerial implications. |

Abstract | Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Affairs of Korean government has launched the Road Sign Management Center in May 2005, which has been carrying out the various works such as installation, management, maintenance, update and education etc. of road sign (or Road Sign Management System, which is on-line system). However, it requires a lot of man-power and huge budget (estimated annually $4.8 million) to survey the road signs in the field and enter the data into the DB in the on-line system. So that is very inefficient and often conflicts with reality. It needs to improve. MOLIT decided to develop the Road Sign Recognition and Analysis Vehicle Platform (RRAP). RRAP is designed to transform the road sign image captured from natural road environment while moving into the text through the pattern recognition. As a part of this project, this research is aim to develop data-screening process and automatic update (or replacing or newly producing) algorism for the present DB in the Road Sign management System using the data from RRAP. We expect that RRAP can decrease labor and budget need to maintenance the Road Sign Management System. |
